House & Gardens

Landford Stone is a family run company whose directors have worked within the industry for over 40 years. Their ethos is “Quality and Service” and there are currently three generations of the family working in their Wiltshire factory along with 30 skilled employees, many of whom have been with the company for many years.

Spearheaded by its incomparable owner Molly Fisher, the company offers a personalised, efficient and friendly service.  Whether one is looking for affordable luxurious marble for the bathroom, durable granite worktops for the kitchen, or a fully bespoke service for a commercial development, Landford Stone will lovingly craft it for you.  Their in-house designers can suggest stones, edges and finishes or they are just as happy to work from the customers own spec, offering help and support where necessary.

Landstone Kitchens

They specialise in recessed drainers, moulded and shaped sinks, fanned drainer grooves and many other unusual finishes, in addition to the standard work required for “Budget” worktops.  Alongside the existing range of premium quality work surfaces, Landford Stone has now added an exclusive selection of superb Limestone and Marble Flooring, all available in a variety of colours, laying patterns and finishes.

Landstone Bathrooms

Also suitable for use in bathrooms and wet-rooms, these beautiful natural stones sit well in any style or period of house and can be used for vanity tops, shelving, shower trays, basins, cladding and tiling.  Landford Stone is also able to offer a book matching service, frequently asked for in a bathroom setting, either behind a free-standing bath or in a large shower.  To achieve this effect, the marble is sliced through to create a mirror image, much as the wings of a butterfly reflect each other.

The best way to work with the fantastic team at Landford Stone is to go there in person and view the 600 types of stone they have in stock.  The yard is vast, and one is able to ponder on all the beauties of the different stones in huge pieces – engineered quartz like Silestone, Caesarstone, Okite, Zodiaq, Samsung, Porcelain and many natural Granites, Marbles and Limestones.  This is well worth the effort and far better than viewing a small sample if going for one of the bolder patterns, as no two pieces of stone are exactly the same.   Actual slabs can be chosen there and then and reserved, as long as the job is already in the pipeline.  The indoor showroom displays an array of edges and finishes, reference photos of past jobs and there will be someone to talk through the different options available. Landstone

The thing I love most about Landford Stone is their friendliness and efficiency.  Once the job is booked, a date is made and a skilled template-maker goes to site, measures exactly and creates a precise template.  One week later a team of men bring the precious – and usually very heavy – pieces of stone and fit them and the result is always perfect!  I know that perhaps sounds overly optimistic, but I am speaking from experience of working with them on many occasions and I would go nowhere else.  They are even now supplying a sealant called Dry Treat for all the stones which carries a 15-year warranty against staining – now that is remarkable!  I find the only bad thing about a natural stone surface is the nightmarish stripping and resealing when heavy staining occurs, but with this brilliant sealer one can rest assured that stains will be a thing of the past.
